Interesting Royal ordnance Factory video

I found this video showing the complete filling and assembly of all componants for 6 pr 7cwt. Self explanatory really but interesting to have confirmed that by this time, CF did mean charge full, rather than cordite filled as often stated. It is also interesting to see just how quickly and hence sloppily the paint markings were applied.

The "User handbook anti-aircraft ammunition 1949" states that "C" denotes Cordite or Nitrocellulose filled. Later publications don't mention the "C" presumably the Ordnance Board were satisfied that by that time, the only possible propellant to be used in mainstream, big bore cartridges cases was going to be Cordite or Nitrocellulose, thus negating the need to identify it.
