No.117 markings

Stuka

Last week I found this No.117 fragment. Just a standard one, except for some markings on the side.
It's got a pattern of dashes at the same height as the knurling on the No.119.
It looks like it is applied manually, like barred-out markings, however, there seem to be no markings under these dashes.
It doesn't look like damage from a plough or the explosion in my opinion.
Has anyone got a clue as to what these may denote?

Thanks.

Thomas.

Sorry, I can't help you. I have not seen it on any of the pieces that I have found. One can only think that there was a reason for doing it.
