    German 150mm

I picked up this German 150 mm shell today at an local gun show. It's the biggest trench art shell I have seen or owned. The seller thought it was French but after cleaning up the base the shell revealed it's secrets.

The Patriarchal cross (☨) is a variant of the Christian cross, the religious symbol of Christianity. Similar to the familiar Latin cross, the patriarchal cross possesses a smaller crossbar placed above the main one so that both crossbars are near the top.

But I do think in this subject it is meant to be a Lorraine cross. Google Cross of Lorraine on wiki and look up symbol in France.
