2 PR Drill projectile ???

Hi can anyone tell me what this type of 2 PR pom pom is . Drill ??? Also what colours its getting a little filler to smooth it out .the drive band is fired just covered in tape

I think it is just a Practice inert projectile with a plug fuze. Usually painted black with a yellow band for practice.
I have similar ones from Australia. The plug fuze is almost impossible to unscrew without damage.

Its a MKII naval practice shell. as Ron says the plug is crimped in and it will probably be weighted with pitch or similar. A yellow band aprox half inch wide a about 1 inch below the plug should be correct. Also an N for naval about an inch tall in quarter inch thick line in yellow or white aprox half way down the body. These are the hardest of all the 2 pdr naval practice projectiles to find in GC. The same pattern was also used post WW2 as a practice shell in armoured car guns. Tig:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Australian 2Pr have AN stencilled on the side. These Practice Mk11 turned up a few years ago so I bought a few. They were red-lead undercoated and the caps punched at 120 degrees. Projectiles are hollow inside and the stampings are around the side, not vertical like Ken's. Made by MO.
I repainted them black with a yellow band for practice. Never got around to the AN stencil.

I can't read easily but this one seems to be a Mk6 or Mk8
