Minuteman Launch Control Trainers at the SAC Aerospace Museum

By the looks of these, they are very old, and probably for the Minuteman 1 missiles. Two men in an underground complex sit in front of these, one man per console. Once given the go code they must turn their firing keys simultaneously to launch the missiles under their control.

For all of its buttons and lights, it really does not do much. I can understand why these officers were bored to tears.
 
If you got all the buttons and lights set up right, I am sure that the end result would be very impressive.

Thankfully it was never used in anger.

i can understand the boredom though.
