Hi

Checked on the consolidated list of containers and there are no pics for H47 boxes so here are a few pics of a recent purchase.

Painted brown with yellow stenciling though there are areas on the inside edges of pea green.
1000 CART 280 BALL MS CORE 140GR IN BULK.
Can't work out what the box contained from the stenciling.
Good condition for nearly 75 years old.

Thank you for showing that package. The rifle was the British EM2.
At one stage, when the prototype SA 80 was introduced at RSAF Enfield, the late curator Herbie Woodend had a stand prominently displayed, comparing the great external similarities between the EM2 and the SA80, one having wooden furniture and the other plastic. This was not considered PC and the next time I went it had been removed.
The plastic was later restructured to look nothing like the EM2.
The Royal Ulster Rifles (as was) were issued with the EM2 for user trials and thought it was good. It considerably increased the amount of ammunition that could be carried.
