Anyone have a picture of the markings and paint scheme of a typical German HE 20mm Flak projectile which is painted yellow body red band. What is does a green band denote.
Thanks for your help. The projectile i have has a steel drive band as oposed to copper, marked 1944 was this normal for a late war projectile. The second picture shows pink purple case and drive band does this denote a steel case? As for the red band i asume its for HE or tracer self destruct.
I have this 20mm flak round that has the screw in tracer exposed thread dated 1937. It has the numbers 81 and 9 ink stamped on the body but just about visible. I thought that a red band would indicate tracer, unless the red band indicated red tracer. This round has no red, i assume its white. Any one have pictures drawings showing the full ink markings. The metal stamp markings are P37024h 1937.
