Not my area, but I have this 30mm Rarden round that has a copper coated projectile. Marked SX 1084 with a few other numbers, is this common and why copper coated?

Round 30 mm AFV HE L8A2
SHELL HE SX481GF

The Empty Shell Body is produced to Drawing No. SX1084 and is based on the Hispano-Suiza
Design No. 121-205-107. The Body is manufactured from steel bar and is internally machined into
two separate cavities. The forward cavity accepts the main filling and Fuze and the rear cavity the
Tracer. The whole projectile is phosphated to aid the adhesion of a rustproof coating and the forward
cavity is varnished. The external wall of the Shell has two grooves. The forward groove has a Sintered
Iron Driving Band (SX1079) pressed into it. The rear groove is used for canneluring the Cartridge
Case to the Shell.
