4 " Mk 15 & 17 and Mk 16 & 21 Drill / Dummy rounds

Here are my 4 " Drill / Dummy rounds I have accumulated over the years.

I have just experienced a feeling of stupidity and excitement, all in one go. While placing the items I realised that the one was a different calibre. (Third from left.) I had always assumed that it was a 4" Mk 16. I noticed that the rim diameter was smaller than that of the MK.16. 141 mm as opposed to that of the Mk.16 which is 150 mm. This is in fact stamped Mk 15 & 17.

You are just showing off. I have not found one Dummy/Drill 4" cartridge. An excellent display. Thanks. Ron.

These 4 inch rounds were standard issue for the South African navy and are therefore reasonably "common" here in SA.
