    1944 Mills Bomb Box

I picked this up today, nice and clean.
I haven't seen one around for a while and the ones I do see
are for drill grenades. A bit out of my depth, but what do these
sell for these days. I know the prices used to be silly for such things
and perhaps they have calmed down some what.

Only a fool looks to the future for he is blind in both eyes, a wise man has one eye on the future and one eye on history.

    Nice to see.

From the photos, it looks as if the lid might be made up of several pieces of wood lengthways which I've not seen before. Is that the case or am I just seeing splits in a full width piece. Can't see how the narrowest piece is held on which is why I am not sure if actually separate.

It also appears to have the end walls recessed slightly into the sides which I haven't noticed before either.

    thanks for posting
