Maybe german 17 cm L/4,7 (Haube). Very rare here but they seem to show up from time to time in the US.

Surprisingly common across the US. I've had 8 pass through my hands, currently maintaining 2. Nobody has ever found a good reason why they are here......

the ''winners'' in WWII took away a lot of enemy stuff to test it and to see what they could learn for their next developments. I have read various books on British testing relative to aero engine materials.
