Another fortunate spot on a dealer’s website. This time misidentified as a fragmentation sleeve for a Soviet RGD-33 grenade. Even in this condition, I think I got it for quite a good price. It’s now gone off for an acid dip.
The aim is to get it clean and then repaint it. (Looks like there are some traces of Feldgrau under the rust) I’m not going to try and fill in the pitting as it has such a complex surface.
As you can see, a complicating factor is that the remains of the head of a grenade are still stuck inside. It would be nice to get them apart without damaging either. We shall see...
