Hello All,
Does anyone have a photograph of the M74 fuze (looking for markings specifically) used on the M92 37mm projectile for sub-caliber training? I can’t seem to find a photo of one, only sectional drawings.
Thanks,
-Steve
Here it is. In my limited experience with these they are unmarked.
The projectile is hard to get and sometimes has an M56 fuze on it
which would work but wether it belongs I am dubious. The M74
fuze is very difficult to find and mine turned up loose. It may be that these
rounds were replaced by the M63 for subcal use ?
Just to add to this as of January 1953 these 37mm rounds were still in service.
It should be noted that the M63 is always shown in manuals with the groove
in the band. In practice other than the first issues for sub-calibre use the groove
is not present. So if you have an M63 projectile and the band is plain with no groove
like the M92 , you have a sub-calibre projectile.
