Unknown grenade with pull fuze

Good evening,

I just received pictures of an unusual and unknown (at least for me) grenade with a pull fuze.

Does somebody has more information ?

Cheers,

The only grenade I think it looks like is a Dubois. Swiss prototype from September 1916

DSCN6302.jpg

It may be an earlier version with a friction fuse from before the version in the drawing emerged.

The full Dubois patent attached.

Sgdbdr - is the fuze like the German Kugel "percussion" fuze shown? It is of course a time fuze, ignited by a spring loaded striker and percussion cap, the striker released when the button is pulled fully up.

Snufkin, I just got the info, the fuze is the Swiss "Maitret" percussion fuze. Seems Millsman is right with the Swiss hypothesis !

Two of the drawings from the French patent showing the development of a striker-initiated time fuzed grenade.

(Sgdbdr - thanks for the pointer to the Maitret fuze. That was new to me.)
