Hi ,

I recently got the following 2cm Pzgr L’spur & it came together with this German Madsen case :

I was wondering if this Pzgr. is supposed to be on a Madsen case , as I cannot find any information on this particular one so far.

Here several pictures , firstly the case markings : C4CA375C-55EC-4806-A701-A4C863DE578C.jpg

The projectile : F9AFF35D-0000-4AF6-B331-6CBC62BB9DA6.jpg6F8E7FA5-581C-46AD-A4C8-4C7FD2AFA03A.jpg2A0F8EBC-83E8-4DEA-A95F-E60C80257829.jpeg

The projectile next to a 2cm Pzsprgr. L’spur. Zerl. (Flak) : 4E0741E6-1F50-4599-A8DC-E9670F9CCC9D.jpg

And lastly , an image of the Bodenschraube (Leuchtspurschraube) & the internal structure of the projectile. It is basically like a Pzsprgr. Zerl. (the one in previous pictures) & like a Pzbrgr. L’spur. o. Zerl. (Ph.) , a Phosphor capsule fits in this one too , just to give u some extra information : 0F599312-6A47-440F-BBD0-1AD97CC21335.jpegE54EDBE8-662B-4ED1-80FE-D2D0067C73C3.jpeg

I’m not sure if the Bodenschraube , or case are correct with this projectile , if any of you can tell me more , or provide an answer to some of my questions , it would be much appreciated. Thank you

As far as I am aware, if it was a Madsen projectile, it should be so marked with an "M" in a circle. So many cobbled-together rounds out there.

Yes,

Just weird how the shape & crimp don’t match with any other 2cm Pzgr I have. If anyone has more info on this one , please feel free to share.

Hey Bever,

The projectile that came with your Madsen casing is used with the 20x138/B casing.
It may be any of the known AP types (Ohne ladung, Ph., Zerl.). As the only identifying features, the stencilled texts, are missing, we can't tell.

I consider this type an intermediate form between the usual "early" (id'ed by crimping groove and copper BD), and the later lacking the groove, fitted with a FES DB.

The dedicated Madsen AP projectile has the "shallow" projectile base and is indeed marked with an "M".
Normal and Madsen projectiles are not interchangable as the drivingband on the Madsen is of a different design.

P.s.
I'd be interested in seeing the way this Zerl. is marked.
Could you post pictures of it showing all it's markings please?
