Hi Can anyone help with this Rarden Round .also I've never come across any headstamps like this before ,also there is a SX number , SX 1084 Projectile is marked Inert .
Thank you Ken
My headstamps from 1981-91 have a different layout.
Date at 3 o'clock, RG at 6 o'clock and lot No at 9 o'clock. Primers changed from 2 key style to pressed in primers .
Yours is earlier and lot 1 from 1971 so a nice variation.
What I know Ron is the Rarden cannon went into service in the early 70's
So when I seen the headstamp and an SX number on the projectile I got a little excited lol . I used to have files on SX numbers on the 120 mm tank rounds which was interesting . I can't remember what my 120 mm HES Chieftain tank round was as it was a practice one . Cheers Ken
