Hello,
does anyone have a clear picture of a modern USN 76/62 (OTA Melora) projectile that shows the text printed on the projectile?
thanks in advance,
-Steve

IMG_1094[1].JPGIMG_1095[1].JPGHello Steve,
Not sure if it's a US-spec round or not but if it's any help, here are a couple of pictures of a 76/62 TP round in standard NATO blue with white stencilling that I have in my collection; I haven't got a cartridge for it yet but hopefully one will turn up at some stage!
Regards,
Ian.

Ian,
Thank you very much for your reply! Unfortunately, that isn’t the kind of information the USN puts on their modern projectiles. They include WAAAAY too much information, and it’s that information I’m looking for. Here is a picture of my 57/70 as an example of what it would look like.

94thFS95,

The DODIC code of B587 is strange, as when I check the documentation I have, that code is for the 57 mm M307A1 HEAT round.

The DODIC code I have for the 57 mm MK 295 MOD 0 is BA22?

Neil

It’s an HE from the 90’s, that’s all I know. It’s been repainted, needs a stencil.

Steve,

These are the DODIC codes for what I presume is the ammo for the 76 mm/62-calibre MK 75 gun, aka the OTO Melara 76 mm

C058 - CTG, 76 mm VT-NF MK 202 MOD 0
C059 - CTG, 76 mm HE-VT MK 208 MOD 0
C060 - CTG, 76 mm HE-IR (MK 199 MOD 1, MK 282 MOD 1)
C060 - CTG, 76 mm HE-IR MK 199 MOD 0
C061 - CTG, 76 mm HE-PD (MK 200 MOD 1, MK 283 MOD 1)
C061 - CTG, 76 mm HE-PD MK 200 MOD 0
C062 - CTG, 76 mm BL-P MK 201 MOD 0/1/2
C063 - DUMMY CTG, 76 mm Gauging Rd
C066 - CTG, 76 mm HE-CVT MK 230 MOD 0
C097 - DUMMY CTG, 76 mm/62 CAL, MK 207 MOD 0
C112 - CTG, 76 mm HE-IR MK 165 MOD 0/1
C113 - CTG, 76 mm HE-PD MK 166 MOD 0/1
C115 - CTG, 76 mm BL-P MK 168 MOD 0/1
C116 - CTG, 76 mm CLEARING CHG MK 76 MOD 0/1/2
C118 - DUMMY CTG, 76 mm, MK 197 MOD 0

CVT = Controlled Variable Time
HE = High Explosive
IR = Infarred
NF = Non-Fragmenting
PD = Point Detonating
VT = Variable Time
BL-P = Blind Loaded-Plugged

Not sure what one you have, unfortunately.

Neil

Thank you,
that’s more info than I have currently. Happen to have any pictures of those?
