A very readable book. The author was a British artillery officer who wrote a number of titles from the 1960s until his death in 1984. Our side held the Afrika Korps in high regard, from the way they were led, to the way the various arms were integrated to work as a whole, and in the quality of their troops. This was despite our troops having more equipment and being more numerous. Our Generals were essentially out-Generalled by Rommel and his subordinates for most of the time. I hope those lessons never have to be relearned.
