Royal Tank Regiment Badge Build

A couple of weeks ago i was asked by a good friend and fellow bocn member if i could make him a Royal Tank Regt badge to go on a plaque.
After spending a day breaking down a picture of a badge into its components, using picture framing card i was able to cut them out on my small home laser cutter,
After the cutting was done came the assembly of the various parts and the most tedious part picking out all the rivets on the tank.once assembled all that was required was painting.

That looks superb. Well done.

Does you home laser cut other sheet materials or is it specifically for paper/card?

Thanks reccetrooper
I would say this one is more suitable for cutting card, it will do thin plywood 5mm but it takes lots of passes . Unlike the commercial ones its only a chinese knock off 2w diode laser and not very fast, i have seen others with these doing very detailed quality work but they use different software and more powerfull lasers to what i use and as you all know tech stuff just baffles me so i use the very basic software that comes with this, its not ideal but it does what i need it for.
The reviews for these are really bad people say they only last a couple of weeks before the laser fails. I have had this 4 years now.
The problems i have had are operator inflicted.
Although its very limited to what it can apart from doing stencils etc i do other arty type projects for family and friends. I have been able to do work on slate which comes out really well. Also its good for outlining images onto wood pre painting.
If i was ever to get another i would go for a larger machine as this only has a small A5 size working area and possibly a more powerfull laser.
Some examples of other stuff i have done with this...

You do realise that now we know you have this that you will get inundated with requests :D

Hum, my one is a dud!
