Hello,
I thought fo starting this thread where you could show your Granatenwerfer projectiles, variations, differences...
Here are mine to start with.
They all have their original paint except the squat one (N°3).
The first one is an Übung one others are pretty standard ones but I cannot find any info on the squat one.

Nice collection. I used to have a nice Granatenwerfer 16 in the chest with one HE round but sold it years ago. All I have left is one flare round.

It's a "Granatsignal" which was not used with the Granatwerfer 15 or 16 but with the "Signalwerfer" (it was a simple metal rod with a small base plate and a cup on top).

Not sure about "No 3" of the first post if this was for the Signalwerfer too? Anyone has information about it? I am sure I have seen this type in a book but don't find it again.

Granatsignal

Here is a picture thanks to Mr. Belot

Chris

Great collection, doppz92.
I notice that numbers 5 and 6 (the more standard HE types) are slightly different. Are they different models/marks or are the differences just down to variations in manufacture?

Thank you justin. Yes, #5 & #6 are the same model, only variations in manufacture. I tried to photograph these variations as wall as all the markings. I know there's a boucing model, but I never seen one and I also believe the most common model, #5 & #6, also exist with only 3 fins. If someone can post some photos, it will be much appreciated.

Granatwerfer 16

Here is a photo and a drawing of the bouncing type thanks to Dierk Hensel and also a photo of another model on the left.

Chris

Here is a three fin version of the standard HE.

I am not certain that the fins are original. They look weathered but perhaps not corroded enough to match to pitting on the body. No stamps visible.

Hello Chris,
Your second picture, on the left : Spanish Copy "Ferrobellum-Stoker" used during civil war

Here are a few more including the rebounding model and one with a strengthening collar at the front. There is also an original crate and a photo (of a photo) of the Treibpatronen used by the Taube. All this is up for grabs if wanted....PM me with sensible offers if interested. (the original Treibpatronen are not for sale)IMG_4182 (2).jpgIMG_4181 (2).jpg

Thanks a lot for showing these, so there are 2 rebounding projectiles. Do you know what's the purpose of the strengthening ring?

I have no idea if it is a factory or field modification (bit risky in the field methinks but Health & Safety wasn't around then).
From the "blown" ones that I have seen they don't seem to have fragmented very well. Perhaps this was an effort to improve fragmentation?
