This is the biography of Carlos Norman Hathcock II (1942 - 1999), who joined the US Marine Corps in 1959 and who served for almost 20 years, finally being invalided out in 1979 because of multiple sclerosis. He was an exceptional marksman and in Vietnam in 1965 was transferred from a role as an MP to that of sniper. This is a great story of a remarkable man and is made all the more readable because it is true. I recommend it.
