Item in question was recovered by a diver from the vicinity of the MV CANADA some years ago. This vessel sank in 1939 after a magnetic mine strike off the coast at Spurn Point whilst embarking from Hull docks. Apparently there are quite a few of these littering the sea floor, the presence of a transit cap and the presence of so many other items indicates that the MV CANADA was probably transporting these somewhere hence the assumption that it is WWII ordnance.

The stamping is barely legible however the setting ring indicates 'Thousands of Feet' which suggests that it is an aerial bomb fuze of some description.T

he question is... does anyone know what type of fuze it is?
