Recently acquired this NO 34 MK4 grenade made by Messrs Davis & Mawson, of Aston Birmingham dated 1918.Its the most rare of the 4 types and I wonder if anyone can tell me the month of its introduction in 1918 as I suspect that this may be the reason for its scarcity, their not being needed accelerated by the end of the war?DSCN7766.jpgDSCN7767.jpgDSCN7768.jpgDSCN7761.jpg thanks

Andy.

Hi Andy

The only introduction date I could find for it was 30th October 1918, which I think is a List of Changes date. So just 12 days before the end of the war. However LOC dates are not always accurate.

Thanks bud, has some of its original shellac but no filling marks so probly never filled. No damage, marks or scratches either, even the filler is a minter as well.
