Operationally these training bombs are white with colour bands depending on spotting or smoke charges. Black would be drill.
Orange is used for calibration, maybe this is a version of that?.
Is there any sign of another previous colour under the red?
I can see white - my other one which is older has a grey nose and black tail.
I see what might be an older red band with the white ?
While likely at the bottom of the heap in regards to high end bomb collection, there
seems to be little in the way of information or images of possible colour versions
of it.
Scarcer than colour information for these are the large size cotter pins
that are used as the safety pins on these. Any one have any and possibly
the tags ?
the overall length of the pin is 39.86mm 7.78mm dia length up to eye 23.86mm OD of loop 15.6mm. the split ring is 23.77 OD x 3.25mm thick. hope you can understand this
Regards
Tom
A Tale of a Tail - well, :tinysmile_angry_t: it was made into a really crappy Lamp ~
But it's not a regular 11 1/2Lb type ? So whose was it ?
It's really not of much use unless some one has the proper nose
and wants to restore or complete it.
