O what is this?

RAF Helensburgh tested a secret O Mine during WW2. A contemporary report by a tester said 'I have no idea what O stands for. All we had to do was drop this magnetic mine.' Any idea what O stood for?

There's no such thing as a osculating mine as far as I know. But as I google RAF Helensburgh it seems to have been a Navy test establishment, for the rest I cannot find anything on the internet about any type of O mine, either the combination of Helensburg with an O mine.
