A man from Liverpool goes to Spain to fight for a good cause https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114671/, or so it seems. It is an excellent deeply human portrayal of Spanish Civil War. Also seems to show the events correctly. It is a good idea to have Spanish AND English subtitles because Brits in this movie have bloody thick Lancashire accents too. Even though it is a war from many years ago, the people in the movie discuss very pertinent present day subjects, like collectivization (universal health care), a piece of land for everybody (living wage or $1200 checks) etc. Some bad ideas look very good on paper.
I enjoyed hearing names of places I visited in 2019, like Albacete, Valencia, Barcelona. Also shows guns, and even what appears to be a Mauser blowing up from cartridge overload.
