experimental st Omer mills grenade

It was intended to be fired from a cup attachment, a precursor of what became (for the short rifle) Cup No.23 rifle grenade, No.1 MkI.

Very interesting document Tom. Do you think that in 1915, when the Adams percussion was first mooted it would have been fired from the bayonet, with the cups coming in 1916?
 
The RE experimental section produced various cup designs in late 1915, precursors to what emerged as the Cup No.23 RG No.1 MkI.
