Does anyone have a list of the valid projectiles used with the 10,5cm Flak39/39 - 105x769R
Rich

Hi, as far as I could find in documentation the gun used these fixed rounds:
10,5 cm Sprenggranatpatrone L/4,4
10,5 cm Sprenggranatpatrone L/4,4 (Üb W)
10,5 cm Sprenggranatpatrone L/4,4 (Üb R)
10,5 cm Sprenggranatpatrone L/4,4 (Blind)
10,5 cm Panzergranatpatrone Flak
10,5 cm Panzergranatpatrone Flak (Üb)
the projectiles for these rounds are here:
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 Stg
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 Pr.zugz.
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 (Üb W)
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 Stg (Üb W)
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 (Üb R)
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 (Bl.)
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 Stg (Bl.)
10,5cm Sprgr L/4,4 Pr.zugz. (Bl.)
10,5cm Pzgr. Flak
10,5cm Pzgr. Flak (Üb)

There might be more in general use, but for these I have seen documentation like LDv 4402/6 and HDv 481/561.
And there will be a lot of experimentals.

Bob

Thanks Bob, thats great.

Do you have any more detail on the armour defeating rounds, particularly Hohlladung type if they were used with this gun?

Hi Rich,
I was not able to find any mention on HL ammunition for the 105mm Flak. Even post war documents mention only regular AP rounds. Also the fact that the AP round did not make the step from the large and heavy base fuze Bd.Z f 10 cm Pzgr to a smaller fuze as did the 88mm Flak, makes me think that there was not much need to use AP ammo. Many of the guns were in stationary batteries.
I can not remember seeing an self propelled armoured variant of the flak in panzerjäger role. (Sure there will be one in the WoT :) ).
Attached is a pic of the AP round. Note the single driving band.
Maybe other fellow members will have more info.

Bob
