"Behind the curtain" tour at NAS Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum

Firstly, I am using an old traditional meaning of behind the curtain, so don't get excited. Secondly, I got lucky that an old Slovak guy overheard my accent and desire to see a P-3 Orion, and he gave my daughter and I a golf cart drive around of extra planes which for one reason or another were not suitable for being exhibited. Thirdly, it is not a usual thing for visitors and I feel very lucky and grateful.
Some of the planes are quite special. I took some photos in motion, so they may look blurred. My camera started malfunctioning right in the middle of the tour, I missed half of the stories the old pilot was telling me. The reason I zoomed at the tail of the first P3 Orion was that it came from my daughter's squadron VP-40 Fighting Marlins.
The black plane called Skynight (I never saw one before) has number 12 and a half on its side. Anyone cares to guess why?

Notice a white turboprop plane with a red nose (last 2 photos of row 2). This is an A2 Savage. It has the 3rd engine in the back, it is a jet engine. It is a carrier based medium size nuclear capable BOMBER. It is very heavy to carry those bulky post WWII nuclear bombs. This is the ONLY survivor.

My mistake, it is "12 7/8".
My tour guide said that no Marine would ever put number 13 on his plane, hence it is slightly less that 13.
And photos of A2 Savage moved to the 5th position of the 2nd row.
Here are a couple of A2 Savage photos from my own post while on Coronado Island, adds a bit more history to this very rare plane.

Sorry, these photos I've copied, are too small. They are at the bottom of this thread http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threa...lst-on-the-Coronado-Island?highlight=Coronado
