I think this flat nosed 57mm/6 pounder is American, any comments welcome, there are no stamps on the projectile or the drive band, and whoever ragged the projectile out of the case (well done ???)

The copper washed one has the same base bleed - pepper pot configuration as the 2 pdr anti Zep/ballon proj that I have so this most likely would be a 6pdr type or Davies proj, with regards the flat topped one it does look like there are grinding marks to the top edge.

Cheers

Hi Mike, the U.S flat top one dont have grinding marks, scratches yes, i am 100% sure its not been chopped, the 6 Pdr copper coated one, i am just not sure what it is, as i have never seen a 6 Pdr Davies gun projectile in the flesh, if i can find a line drawing of one showing the internal structure,i will have to remain unsure about it,cheers
