Hello,
I have a 37-85 case, headstamp PD.Ps 1 6.16. I know that Pichart Deny made two lots in 1916. In februari and september. But not in june 1916. Its a normal, fired, case.
Has anyone any information??
Thanks, Hans

Mine for 1916 are all 2-16 or 9-16 , but as you have 6 -16 it must exist and be scarse ?

Unless that "6-16" should have been "9-16"(September) which would make it even more rarer.

Having a closer look at - there is a distinct difference between both "6s" (rotate the photo)

Better still can someone post their "9-16" for comparison?

This is a list of the lots Pichart Deny made during 1914-1918

I have about 500 cases all with different headstamps from Pinchart Deny. I have never seen this headstamp before.

Hans, I think the overview you post has been made by collectors (from French site?)? If so, and I am pretty sure, it will be as close to reality as possible but possibly not complete, as it is based on found examples. You just found proof it is not complete yet ;-). Based on the collectors behind that overview we can assume your LOT number is rare and possibly more will pop up.

9 / 16 cases

It must be considered that it is a 9 stamped upside down, this happens.
I have a 1914 Ross bayonet marked 13/12 , this is imossible and it is a number 2 upside down not a 3,
easily done almost surprizing not more often.
If it were a coin or stamp worth a fortune ~ here , well just an interesting odd thing and adds some fun to it all.
If more turn up then that would verify it - nothing worse than having the only example :banghead:

Today I found an other 37-85 PDPs case stamped 3 6-16. See picture. Two different cases can't be considered as a 9 stamped upside down to my humble opinion. Now I'm wondering if this was a lot or for a test.
