WW1 Artillery shells

Does this object have anything to do with shells?
thx

Yes, indirectly, in that they are wheel hubs from the wheels used on 18-pr field guns and limbers, 4.5-inch howitzers and limbers, and other pieces.

Edit - there seem to be two types on show. GS wagons and ambulances used different wheels, with slightly different hub designs, to the guns and limbers. Checking some drawings the hubs marked in the photo with blue arrows appear to be from GS wagon wheels. The photos that show a single unarrowed hub show the gun wheel hub.

Contract listings for wheels and spare parts for them describe the guns as having No.45 wheels and GS wagons having No.200 wheels.
