This lot used to be owned by a grenade instructor with the Romney Marsh Home Guard. Came to me about 10 years ago.

Nice to see a genuine WW2 Drill tin. Rare.

By George you're right Dave. I'd never looked that closely but it is dated 6/66. I thought post war the boxes of 12 had been replaced by the tubes of 3 36s. Post WW2 is not my era really.

I bought it from my gunsmith on Romney Marsh who had bought the tin / dets, a few wartime dated practice 36s and a couple of drill 68's, plus wartime training manuals and a large training model of a 36. All from the widow of the ex Home Guard instructor. I can now only assume he's acquired it later to complete his set.
