The done a later one for the later 1970s para illum in red with black writing, not sure if it was plastic or cardboard body.

The black band indicates a case that has had the original print cancelled and which was loaded as a 28 bore shotgun cartridge, usually with No.5, No.6 or No.7 shot, and sold in a plain box with a yellow label that read “GAUGE 28 SMOKELESS 25 DEEP SHELL QUALITY CARTRIDGES EMERGENCY ISSUE WITH SUPERFICIAL IMPERFECTIONS SHOT 5”

Thanks but I forgot to mention it was a shotshell. I included it to show the original red print MkII case. I have a black print MkII cancelled in size 7 shot too.

Canada 2%22 Mortar Igniter.jpegI found the Canadian 2" igniter. H/S is Dominion No28 Canuck Made in Canada. Wad dated 1/43. I guess Canada made a 50 gr Ballistite load too ?

On receiving my round I found it had remains of cartridge in tail




Cap may not be original though (not marked with a 'P')??
