German magnetic AT mine 'Haft-Hohlladung 3kg'

This is a German magnetic Anti-Tank mine 'Haft-Hohlladung 3kg' used by tank killer squads in built up areas. It was a hollow charge which was secured on the target by three very strong magnets. Once the friction igniter was pulled, the charge had a delay of approx 5 - 8 seconds.

    Weight - 3.49 kg
Weight of charge (TNT) - 0.98 kg
    Diameter of charge - 108mm
Height of charge container - 197mm
    Height of magnets - 70mm

Is it true that the different coloured fuse pull-caps represented the different time delays?
i have a yellow one and a blue one on my egg grenade.

Picked up the AT mine from Belgium, was a good find

The different colour pull caps on all igniters were for identification of the time delays as follows:

    Red : 1 sec
    Blue : 4.5 sec
    Yellow : 7 sec
    White : 10 sec

    Hope the info helps.

    Welcome aboard Bernhard.
An excellent find indeed, you must be very pleased with it .

I have seen a few before but not near as good condition and they went for hundreds.

Is the paintwork and markings all original?

    Regards
    SG (Paul)
