Hello all, i have been gifted a B166 II 1943 box to restore (ex bigdaves collection)
Restoring boxes is not something i know much about and need some advice please.
The box overall is solid but as you can see like many has been scrubbed of all its original paint apart from the inside which appears to be original .
So to my questions
Once i have cleaned off all the black would it originally have had a primer coat ?
Also the colour , would the exterior be service brown ?
Im still not decided wether to do it as 3in mortar or Piat, but first priority is the main painting.
Thanks
Allan
