I’m trying to ID this 75mm projectile.

20220426_155229.jpg20220426_155221.jpg20220426_155215.jpg20220426_155237.jpg20220426_155245.jpg20220426_155256.jpg

It is 292mm tall and the base is boat tailed. Markings are

M ? 1 7
A L K
C T
1294 18

And near the nose M D N

And on the reverse A L

I’m looking for country, age, fuze that would be used and the case for it.

Can anyone help? TIA

Another rare and uncommon shell BURNEY DAVIS !
Everything makes me think to a french 75mm HE M1917.
But it's the first time I see such a crimp groove on the base (? !)
I only know this kind of crimp groove on 75mm AL but the base is shorter.
Filled MDN (Melinite Dinitronaphtalene)
ALK is the manufacture code

Thanks for the swift ID Minen. Two things had given me doubts about it being that model, the goove (as you have said) and I had forgotten it should take an adapter. A schoolboy error!!

Could the '18' be the date of manufacture? And is it possible that with the groove it could have been made for marine use?

For 1918, maybe.
For Navy, why not.
