Memorial Day (2012)

A young boy finds a IIWW foot locker with the 82 Airborne markings belonging to his grandfather https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1694118/, and his grandfather tells him stories about the items inside the locker. The locker contains ammo including a medium calibre artillery round. Unfortunately the boy does not pick up this shell (not a future ammo collector). The boy grows up and is shipped to Iraq. The movie is about items and stories around them. It gets very philosophical at the end about the fact that these items are nothing without the stories, and very correctly so (that's what we are trying to do at this forum). Reminded me about myself trying to get IIWW stories out of my own grandfather. Good luck with that. He was a chief surgeon of the 6th Guards Tank Army, on the Soviet side. I do remember some interesting medical stories he told me http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threa...rial-for-my-grandfather?highlight=grandfather. So anyone who served in 82 AA or in Iraq may relate well to this movie. Happy Memorial Day to everyone, and thank you for your service!!!!
