    Spitfire over Berlin (2022)

A single Spitfire mission to fly over Berlin and obtain photographic evidence of German 88's presence to dissuade American 8th Army Airforce from flying into a German trap https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13434866/. I can't recommend this movie unless you REALLY REALLY love Spitfires and CGI. But I posted it here to ask a question. Is this true that photo recon planes of WWII era are unarmed?

The majority of PR Spitfires and Mosquitos were unarmed and in the former some were unarmoured. See
