C219 box handles

Anyone know why the C219 boxes have the offset/asymmetrical handles?
Most other boxes have them centally placed on the side.
The first picture is the box upside down, so the handles can be seen.

I guess it s because the load of large 4 rd clips of 40mm bofors clips isnt evenly spread and to carry the box level the handles are diametrically opposed

The C219 holds 24 individual rounds in paper tubes. Those are evenly laid out. The C216 holds the clips of four and is externally identical to the C219. I suspect it is more for when a box is half full, particularly when the cartridges have been taken from one side only.
