I won it in an auction in London Ontario = 2 Hr drive each way for me total cost of it was was $33.90 Cdn.
Plus the gas and lunch with a friend, my time =0 value these days. I was marked undernieth "Made in Italy"
The description was 19" to the socket - which is hidden by the awful 50s - 60s or 70s shade. So
I really didn't quite know the size of it. In the end the tube is 10" cast brass or bronze, base is 13" long.
It was screwed down so I changed that to two steel ins so it can be lifted off, a wedge tacked in to hold
the elevation, a new lid on the gun stores box, a cross piece between the whees to kepp it in line and steady,
bore out the vent and give it a clean and remove some light rust. For not an academic scale model it still
looks decent now.
