Well changing the topic just a little
i thought i might wizz all you forty somethings
back to the eighties.

Something i allways wanted and found it just
in time.
She was ripe for the scrap yard but had a massive
history with the last owners having it for 24 years.
This 1980 3.0s was a genuine special order car
of the day being black.
I stripped her to a bare shell and completed 147
hours reconstructive welding.
I stripped the engine and had ported and vented
unleaded heads from Burtons performance cars
fitted,a brand new high volume oil pump and manual choke
webber.
Everything was Fully detailed and put back together.
The car had a full bare metal respray with clear over base
and baked.
I finished her in late summer this year and have had one
show in Essex under my belt, with loads of interest generated.
My Friend was in his Mk1 RS2600 Taking photos of me on the
A12 and still out acelarated Him with no probs.
Check out the fishnet reacaro interior,Rare in black.

Which one did you want to be ? Bodie or Doyle ? even more fun in the wet or snow/ice ! Tony.

Ahh Bodie for sure,He should have been the next James bond.

Even with New GT2 Tyres you can still get the arse to twitch
But what fun.

Aye,happy days!

Some of my pals had these a few years back ranging from 1.6 through to the 2.8 and that mad 3.0.

If i remember,i think my mates 2.8 used to be a police car?
Lovely restoration on yours Phil, well done!
best

Cheers Waff

Yes you are correct about the 2.8i as most of the police cars
back then ran out of puff until they turned the tables
with the Injection (goes like lightening).

Best phil

Its nice to see a good car and a good job you have made of it to, i used to have one back in the 80s also i used to race them at speedworth, superods as they were called.
