    Help with a 'wheel'

    Hey there

I found this on a disused WW2 airfield. At first I thought it could be a wheel hub but now believe it is more likely a brake drum. It was found at the same depth as other WW2 items.

Could it be off an aircraft ? The base was USAAF fighter base. Or is it just a heap of crap off a land vehicle ?

Any help would be appreciated. There are no visible markings on the item.

    Thanks

    brake drum

Not certain but 10 stud holes in a 13inch dia drum is a bit many for auto motive, maybe on a truck but then surely it would have a bigger drum. Also the metal thickness seems thinner than an old vehicle type again would suggest aircraft trying to keep the weight down. I guess more looking landing wheel diagrams might help.
