My collection

Good display, of grenades how long have you been collecting !

Nice collection.

You have some very nice items there gijunkman, British or not, well done!
Although that 94 "Energa" Grenade looks decidedly like "issue" over here many moons ago.

Thanks All

I've been collecting since I was in high school. Have had lots of stuff come and go over the last 20 or so years. The M29 "Energa" was a flea market find about 8 years ago, I paid $50 for it then and see lesser examples go for much more now. I have to admit that I probably have as much money tied up in books though.:tinysmile_hmm_t:

Nice collection! I especially like the grenade launchers, the top M7 does it have the coil spring or the earlier version with the removable nut, I can't tell. The Vitamin pills are nice too, where on earth did you find two boxes of them? I need to get some of them for my collection, nice assortment of blanks too!

Here's some of mine. The M7 on the far right is a S. Vietnamese sung phung lu dan 03/03A3 launcher.

Please overlook the improper GL blanks in this pic, I don't know what I was thinking.

My M7 is the later type with the coil spring. Its made by IBM with AH Xed out on it. Some of my booster carts. I got off Auction Arms, I found some loose ones at the last Michigan Arms Collectors show down in Novi and just picked up a sealed packet of two boxes out of a spam can of launcher carts. a while ago.

I pick up launcher carts. when ever I find them so that part of my collection is constantly growing.
I need to find an M8 and an M76 like you have. I sold off my '03 and my M1917 rifles in favor of M1's so I haven't looked for a launcher for one of them. The S. Vietnamese conversion is cool though, where'd you get that?
ps. Nice rifles by the way, Is your pistol an M1917 S&W? I had a colt M1917 many years and one wife ago.

I got the Vietnamese GL off of gunbroker about five or six years ago, the only other one i've seen was in Brophy's springfield 1903 book, they come up for auction every now and then but are always fakes without the markings. The pistol is a S&W victory model 38 although I do have a smith 1917 as well. You got those blanks at the MAC show? Thats cool, I'll have to look harder at the next one, I think its comming up next month.

MAAC Show

motorcityman, next show is Feb,7&8th. I got the loose vitimin pills at MAC back in November from the dealer with the carbine parts in the white organiser boxes. He also had a box or two of carbine launcher carts. and an M21 amber star cluster in the tube from WWII. I also bought an M1A1 presure firing device form him. I do belive he said he was from Ohio. I'm going to set up at the Holland show on the 7th so if you go on saturday don't buy it all.:tinysmile_fatgrin_t
Missingsomething, my wife thinks that I'm slightley nuts and that I spend far too much time and money on this junk, so keep hunting mate and you'll never know what you'll find.:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Thanks for the tip, the show was packed, I got there at 8:30 (show opens at 9) and I had to wait in line :tinysmile_eyebrow_t I did get some of the booster charges (vitamin pills) from the guy you told me about, not bad at two bucks a pop, theres a guy on gunbroker that wants like 25 dollars each or some idiotic price like that. I also picked up a mint M29 inertia grenade with blank taped to it in the tube date 10/52. I sold an 1877 Colt lightning pistol as well for a decent amount and gawked at every winchester 97 trench gun that I saw. How are the shows on the west side of the state? I used to go to that big show in GR but havent in maybe ten years or so. All in all it was a decent show, too many old timers there with their flintlocks but then again its an antique arms show :nerd:

Motorcityman, Glad I could steer you right. Nice find on the M29, what did you give for it, if you don't mind my asking? If you join MAAC you can get in at 8am. I was going to go to Holland and set up this morning, but I got asked to do some overtime today and by the time I got out it was too late to go there. I am planning to go to Novi in the morning so I have to ask you if you saved me anything? The shows on this side are small, Grand Rapids is the biggest, But I prefer Sport Shows Lansing/Mason and Birch Run shows. They just had a new show up in Manistee at the casino, but it was kind of soso. I like to do the smaller J&J shows in Cadilac and Kalkaska can usually find interesting stuff there. I'm looking for the booby trap and mine firing devices right now, I have a couple M8 practice ap mines that need M6 fuses. Hopefully I'll have some luck tomorrow. Again glad I could help.:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

I didn't see any fuzes at all, but then again I wasn't looking. I paid 75 for the grenade, did a little haggling on it though, its really mint and in the stoarge tube with a blank. Saw a couple of oddball grenades but nothing to write home about, I did see alot of old friends there so it made it worth it plus I sold that pistola. Lots of military guns but i'm pretty much set on US marital sans a couple of shotguns. I went looking for a remington model 11 shotty that I want to make into a replica of the one Clyde Barrow carried but didn't find any worth a second look. All in all it was a decent show, decent but not 3 hour drive decent....Not for me anyways..I hope you find some goodies!

Sweet M29 excelent find. I found a fuse for an M16 bounding ap mine that was in pretty bad shape but it had the firing pin in it so I picked it up to salvage the pin. Seen the grenades not very good examples and at $100 to $300 a bit expensive. Long drive but I went with 3 friends so it was ok.
