the colour was off-white..
This bomb design still exists with several
modifications in the nose and tails section.

I think they were whte with hazard bands ..e.g red band for flame(flash) green bands for smoke

The warning bands do not exist anymore.
In the modern version there's a peephole
in the tail section.

Dillo these modern 3kg practice bombs clearly show the hazard/warning bands
.These ones are brown showing that there is a low explosive hazard

The ones in my photo are missing the nose cones,think someone had souvenired them before they got to us for disposal

Here a picture of 10 Lb practise bomb -Joerg -Ammunition in the pictures is with the KMD (EOD)
 
The cutaway picture submitted by "Spotter" is wrong! It does not have a main charge, booster or detonator only a spotting cartridge inside the "BOBIN".

Correct Reference on drawing
Cartridge = BOBIN
Main Charge = BOBIN
Booster = Spotting Cartridge
Detonator = Spotting Cartridge
