HONOURED MEMBER RIP
These are some experimental training rounds for the Vickers MG> They date from around 1927 and were an attempt to produce a round that could be used on indoor 25 yard ranges by necking the .303 case to .22.

They were not taken into service.

Aluminium bullet

The latter was so powerful it shot holes in the steel backplates of the ranges.

All are headstamped \"R^L 27 VII\"

Tony these ideed are odd looking rounds,,was the weapon that fired these specialy made or was it just standard with a barrel insert
 
It was a standard Vickers with a special .22 barrel and the fusee spring was adjusted to suit.
