I wondered if it might be a citron foug, but the only pictures I can find show much shallower grooves and a more 'lemony' (for want of a better word) shape.
Admittedly, this example has been hacked about with a file at some stage in it's life, but the casting marks that remain seem to indicate that those grooves were originally fairly deep.
yes you are right i found some pictures but it looks like for the frence citron foug granade !!!
Maybe its a copy version from a other state after the first world war ??
