thank you for the infos, but what I research relate to a projectile of mortar with laser guidance (like the artillery projectile of 152 mm, called KRASNOPOl)

Krasnopol vs Smelchek

How, how, how !
"Krasnopol" is the general name of a laser-guided system for heavy artillery ammunition.
"Smelchek" is the name of the 240 mm mortar equiped with the "Krasnopol" system.

Krasnopol system

You can also find the following artillery shells :

155 mm HE called Krasnopol-M
122 mm HE called Kitolov-2M
152 mm HE called Santimetr 3OF38

Thought I posted a picture of that before, but I don't remember the thread. I'll see if I can find the photo.

This is about the best I can do with the limitations on photo size. These are the only photos I was able to take, I was on location to look at other things, and the escorts were getting a little testy when I was photographing to much modern stuff.

You might be able to find more pictures and minor tech data in Russia's Arms or one of the related export books.

G'day guys,

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I am working on a piece on 240mm munitions available for the M-240 and 2S4 heavy mortars, and would very much like to compare notes with anyone knowledgeable on the topic.

Include the 2 RA types (HE and Submunition carrier) and the incendiary shell + the nuke.

Vince,
A T-90 we can exclude I guess, look at the image Jeff posted, there you can see that it is shorter than a T-90 below the threaded part.
There are several ordnance items which use a time fuze just for the arming process (like I assume it to be with this one here - to discard the nose protection of the seeker lens) or, just for example; like in the German WWII 150mm HE-RA to ignite the rocket engine while the real impact fuze was "in the gutts".

Here as it looks in flight after arming:
