The Igniter is used to ignite a cord that carries a detonation charge. To ignite, the firing pin is simply pulled back by the operator and the spring tension created forces the pin forward with enough force to set off the primer. The primer then ignites the shock tube which is secured in the end of the igniter. The shock tube is placed into the item to be detonated.
Note: MAST can also supply the M60 igniter upon request. The M60 Igniter is the older single use version (M700 Time fuse only). The M81 is dual purpose: it will function either M700 time fuse or shock tube.
