Baton round

Hi,
the rounds World wide arms sell are ok, and i think a good price, I have an early baton round iv had since the seventies, the pointed head type,
i thought i would keep it, it is now deactivated but a good reminder.
it,s the 1.5 ins, round N.I issue.

for 37mm baton rounds only

I wanted to start a thread on 37mm baton rounds only. I have seen where more than a few members seem to be interested in these colorful jewels. Would really like to see pics of ones in members collections. There are some U.S. 37mm baton rounds that go up on gunbroker, but they start bidding at 25.00 which seems high for this round. But I guess if you consider the cheaper shipping, etc... not too bad. Both of these came from England in deals...Dano

37mm South African rounds...

One is a reduced charge baton round and the other one is a normal charge, both military issue and from the 80's.

Attached is a pic of the carry belt used, it's a Patt 70 (1970's) belt.

40mm baton

I found a 40mm foam baton round on gunbroker that I bought this morning. I thought it to be a tad weird because i've never seen the word "baton" on a 40mm round, but then I don't get out much. I know this thread is supposed to be 37mm only but thought this one would fit in catagory, will supply pic when round arrives......Dano

Batons

Hello Dano,
I think I've posted this before on another site, but here they are anyway!
Cheers,

We all have to start somewhere ! if you want to be accurate, you need a flat nosed pvc baton for the L5 series cases and the black rubber pointed baton needs a L2/3 type case from the 1970's. Tony.

Here's the card issued to troops in NI who used the PVC rds in baton guns.

thanks for the correction been caught out a few times with the wrong projectile in the wrong case

Hi AndysArmory,

Do you have any information & diagrams on the L60A1 Baton Round?

Are the 37 mm and the 1.5 inch baton round the same or do they require different hardware to launch them?

Hi Andy, sorry i can't help i started to collect them but couldn't get into them so gave up there is allot more people on here that knows more about them then me.
Cheers
Andy
